Therapy Services

Morningstar's Therapy Department provides individualized Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy treatment plans for an array of client needs from post orthopedic surgery to medically complex rehabilitative services for cardio/pulmonary conditions and post CVAs. At Morningstar our rehab program prepares many people to go back to the community after dealing with sometimes very serious health conditions. We are proud of our therapy outcomes and track record of getting our clients ready to return to their lives as independently as possible after a hospitalization.
 
Rehab therapy services are dynamic based on how each short term client responds and improves within their individual program.  The foundation of all of our programming is an interdisciplinary approach and this is especially true for our short term clients.  Rehabilitative therapy outcomes are influenced and enhanced by the collaborative efforts of our nursing team, physician services, registered dietitian, activities/recreation and social services staff.

Our therapists will work closely with each patient to promote the best possible level of independence while maintaining their dignity. We offer a full complement of programs such as:

• Retraining for Activities of Daily Living
• Home management Retraining, such as preparing meals
• Functional Mobility Training including gait and stair training
• Speech and Language Treatment
• Therapeutic exercise for muscle strengthening
• Wheelchair training and management
• Fall prevention /management
• Balance Retraining

Morningstar provides up to 7 days a week of physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy.  Patients and families are encouraged to participate in planning of their scheduled therapies while at Morningstar Care Center.
